Twas the Night Before Christmas

Every once in a while we’ll hear about mothers going into labor so quickly that they are unable to get to the hospital in time. A baby being delivered on the side of the road in the back seat of a car by a policeman is a much more compelling drama than the birth of a baby born in a sterile hospital surrounded by medical personnel. So vivid and memorable is the birth of Jesus that even young children know and repeat the story. While Mary and Joseph were in Bethlehem, “...the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:6-7 NIV).

Gail;

-----All of what mankind knows is stored in individual minds, each with its own tiny, unique portion of it, and each unique portion sequestered from all the other unique portions by a barrier which only communication can traverse, and at that, by only one expression at a time. Most of what mankind knows has never been interrelated in the manner which forms more insights and perceptions. Those form within each sequestered pool of knowledge, often after an expression has been exchanged.
-----I have a friend who assures me God does not exist because he has never seen any evidence of His existence. I would deeply belly-laugh but for the fact of his eternal destiny resulting from this type of chosen foolishness. Such arrogance is not funny. Christ was born to communicate God to man in a way which goes beyond just words into minds willing to accept the tidbits of information that mere expressions are. Nobody sees any evidence of anything without the willingness to accept simple expressions shared from one mind to another.
-----So, that Christ was born in a by-the-wayside town where the townspeople park their animals to go do other things is quite fitting. This little child thrusts Himself upon nobody (except Paul,) yet makes Himself available to everyone. This way, everyone has to believe enough to look. And in looking or not looking, everyone sorts themselves out as being either humble or arrogant. For, over the centuries so many minds have expressed what they’ve experienced of this Holy Child that every other mind is accountable for what it does not know from not having searched.

Love you all,
