Searching
An attention grabber a prominent social networking site advertises, “Find out who is searching for you!” Your imagination kicks into high gear and you start thinking about long lost friends, class mates and loves. Gail;
-----Sometimes we must forgive an analogy’s failure under the weight of a little thought, especially when the Bible has presented it. God’s search for the individual is one of those analogies. He knows where we are even more than we know. So if we try to reconcile this analogy to God’s search for a line of reasoning that would convince someone to accept His truths, it still fails. God also knows our mental and emotional strategies better than we do. God’s search for us is a concept especially fit to the weakness of our own minds.
-----His search for us is yet our search for Him. Although He knows the ideas that would certainly convince us of His reality, we do not know them until we find them. Some are within our capabilities of deduction. Others are just outside those capabilities, but still close enough that we can perceive what they might be and deduce the direction to where they are. But most we must stumble upon through the thoughts of other people and our own inspirations sparked by events and circumstances. I believe “His search” is His interactive efforts in all of this that chum our minds along paths towards Himself. Although God knows everything about a person, He has not found a person until that person has found Christ.
Love you all,
