By Invitation

Recently I went to an “invitation only” event. A man who was not on the list of attendees, made the situation awkward for organizers when he tried to bully his way into the event. He was turned away, but rather than simply leaving, he defiantly hung around outside the gate.  My thoughts turned to the return of Christ. John wrote, “Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’” And he added, “These are the true words of God” (Rev 19:9 NIV).

Gail;

-----Have you ever stopped to consider how much those wedding invitations cost? And the big price you pay for them often buys such ostentatious affects that either their weight or dimension or both fail to meet the post office’s machinable letter standards, so they cost additional postage. If I were responsible for planning the wedding guest list, I would be certain everyone to whom I sent an invitation was most likely to appear. Evidently, in preparing the list of guests for Christ’s great wedding feast all due respect was given the cost of getting them there, for the Lord had that list written out before the foundation of the world in the Lamb’s book of life (Rev 13:8, 17:8, 20:15, 21:27.)

Love you all,
