Send and Receive
I have major email issues and
in order to solve the problem I wound up with four different email servers,
each doing a different function. With two I can receive emails, but not send
out. With another I can send and receive, but none of my contacts are in that
email address book. One is selective and will receive some, but not all emails.
Currently I am cutting and pasting messages onto different servers until I have
time to consolidate and get everything in one place. I have this image of the
Spirit being similarly frustrated when He sorts through the mixed messages of believers…are
they sending, receiving, deleting, saving…or simply dealing with junk mail. Paul
said, “…but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all
things, even the deep things of God. For who among men
knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way
no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We
have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that
we may understand what God has freely given us” (1Cor 2:10-12 NIV).

-----If you are trying to draw an analogy here, I think you’ve got the world’s condition epitomized, but not the Lord or His Word, but unfortunately, your email condition all too much analogizes most of His people, too. God is true and His messages are true. And they’re getting more specific as the chaos of the world is evermore emerging into the patterns of the victory over evil’s frolic He will shortly make. Yet many of His people, though consternated over the continuing chaotic trend of the world, refuse to relate emerging patterns of evil to God’s Word says about them. This is like the email server which might connect with an email, but refuses to download it. And it is becoming evermore important to download God’s Word as it innately connects with events and circumstances today as well as with the history which has made today.
-----Why? God’s traveling a specific path. He laid out this path before the creation of the world. Our names were written in the Book of Life before the creation of the world. What is coming will come definitely. It will come specifically. It will come in the direction it comes with the speed in which it comes, and it will run over anyone sitting in the road at the time it comes. So it is rather important to one’s well being to know as much as possible about what road to stay out of when. More important than that, other folks who’ve not been watching, who’ve not even been thinking about what comes this way need at least a word of caution. They need to know it is time to surrender to the life preserver God’s thrown into the sea, and to be drawn into the lifeboat. If ever there is a time to get deliberate about spreading the gospel of Christ, it is now. Yet even more important, as wickedness is rising from the sea like an insane beast, our physical places of safety continue diminishing in both number and size. So also with our conceptual places of safety as the PC fascists constantly turn more and more of our expressions, mannerisms, and cherished rituals into villains, then loose their hordes of journalistic thugs for shaming us into obscurity. Our prayers must become evermore focused on the real nature of our situation rather than it’s perceived nature. And it is becoming evermore important to work into our prayers by choosing properly correlating paths and delivering careful, yet still truth-expressive speech.
