Downcast

Because of the actions of one man, and the in-action of his supervisors, the reputation of a local organization has been tarnished. The news and social media exploded with the details and while most comments reveal disgust, there are a few that expressed grief and sympathy. However, the sympathy is not for the offender, or those who turned a blind eye, but rather for the families and current employees who are left to deal with the fallout. One man told me, “It wasn’t their fault and they are having a hard time holding their heads up.” No doubt some of those who are hanging their heads are believers. Paul would tell them, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God” (2 Cor 1:3-4).

Gail;

-----That the reputation of an organization should be tarnished by the behavior of a few of its personnel does not indicate a reputable public. The organization did not make the behavior, the individuals did. That some of the individuals were supervisors does not indict the organization either. Neither is the organization tarnished by the fact other individuals who knew of the behavior did not blow whistles. They are.
-----The public’s moral stance for the casting of stones at the organization must be considered near zero. What does this “holy” judging public wink at? Abortion. Rivers of booze flowing through its gut. Pot smoke rolling out its ears. How about re-election after re-election after re-election of politicians who can not string more than five words together without the inclusion of an abject lie. For that matter, this “holy enough to judge” public tolerates their schools teaching their children that Heather’s two mommies are more than acceptable, they’re laudable. Moreover, anyone who speaks ill of her two mommies will face fines or jail time at the blessing of this “moral enough to judge” public. I know a young couple in this town who enjoyed a visit from a social service worker with a deputy sheriff in tow. They toted her son and baby out of her house because they found “horrible drugs” in her umbilical cord of a recent birth and in a hair sample they took “at gun point”. It didn’t matter that an independent lab found a sample taken from the same head of hair squeaky clean. It didn’t matter that everyone who knew her well saw zero signs of this “horrible drug” abuse, a drug which produces very obvious outward appearances. And what about the court which said if she pled no contest in spite of the exonerating evidence from the independent lab and testimony of everyone who knew her, then she could have her kids back by the end of January. Which is now ended while her children remain legally kidnapped by this public’s “NAZI” thugs who invaded her home a few months ago. Wink, wink, public, wink, wink, wink.
-----I’m not saying the supervisors and this prankster are persecuted innocents like the above mentioned young lady and her husband and children are. I am saying the public is judging the organization for failing to stop less moral atrocities than the public itself supports. “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite[s], first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
-----“Do not give dogs what is holy; and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under foot and turn to attack you.” (Mat 7:1-6) There are no hypocrites bigger than this public. They pomp and moralize over the slightest misdeeds while they raid the homes of good young folks, murder thousands of unborn children daily, and teach sexual perversions to the rest of the children fortunate enough to be born. But don’t dare offer a piece of godly wisdom to this public, or it will trample you into the dirt and make sure you don’t get up.
-----Do the organization a favor, strike with surgical animosity. Focus anger only on those who did the wrong.

Love you all,
Steve Corey
