Reputation

A man wrote a letter-to-the-editor in which he said, “Years of problematic government affairs has reached afar and spread uncertainty. While preparing this area to welcome new business investments, we must prioritize efforts and reinstate quality and credibility.” In a nutshell the man is blaming local government affairs for our reputation across the state as being a dysfunctional community and he feels new business investments will not be drawn to the community because of our lack of credibility. I’m reminded of the reputations of Nazareth and Galilee. Speaking to Philip, Nathanael said, “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there” (John 1:46 NIV)? In another situation the Pharisees scolded Nicodemus, “Are you from Galilee, too? Look into it, and you will find that a prophet does not come out of Galilee” (John7:52 NIV). Similar to thinking our community defines us, many believers want to let the reputation of their church define them.

Gail;

-----Reputation is an interesting thing. The one you have is in the minds of others, but it is not necessarily in your mind, nor is it necessarily in the minds of all others. Nor is it always correct. But the more you do the things of your reputation, the more it spreads and the more it is validated. Downtown South First and North First Streets define this community’s leaders quite aptly. I don’t think the leaders realize it. The Wreck Center being constructed by predominately the sales tax dollars of the same county citizens who voted it down defines this community’s leaders. And the round-a-bouts the people rejected from the already botched up North and South First street areas are springing up here, there, and yonder regardless of the more predominant disapproval of the community. And for drivers so obviously stupid as to require red arrows at turn lanes of three particular intersections keeping them safely stopped in the middle of the night for God’s fresh air to blow by now traverse the busy, confusing Main St/Cascade Ave intersection without as much as a stop sign. More reputation. Some reputation grows by animosity. This reputation is growing by reality.
-----While on the subject, another reputation shall now seemingly give us great concern. The death of Antonin Scalia could not have been better timed for the leaders who pay no regard to integrity, truth, and the rule of law. Their reputation is that of being detractors of the Constitution at least, enemies of it moreover. We know these people by their deeds (ie, their reputations precede them.) Is there any doubt now that a conservative President will be feckless, or a conservative legislature? Have we groaned over legislation from the bench before anywhere as nearly as we are going to be groaning henceforth? Imagine what will become when another deeply dark liberal joins Darth Bader Ginsburg, Yoda-mayor, Stephen Briar patch, and Elena Kegger to form a Supreme Court majority of disregard for the contract between government and its citizens? I’m just speculating according to reputations.
-----In 1493 thru1494, four blood moons on Jewish holy days marked Israel’s entry into a time of heightened pogroms until the land discovered in the same year became the nation God used to help secure Israel as a nation. Two more sets of Jewish holy day blood moons marked the founding of Israel and the recapture of its lost capital, Jerusalem. Now another set of blood moons has maybe marked something just as consequential as what those marked. The land God obviously rose up by His own hand, the land which was primarily responsible for holding back the tides of a century of evil, fascistic rule from devouring the world is on the cusp of turning into evil, fascistic rule itself (consider II Thes 2:3-8.) America’s moral influence will now abandon her own halls of justice as it has abandoned the world in the very time Islam is welling up like a global firestorm. Have you ever seen anything operate so akin to a false prophet for the Beast as what politically-correct liberalism does for Islam?
-----America will become unfettered politically-correct liberalism at the seating of Hnr. Scalia’s replacement. There are some very good books available on the Islamic anti-Christ. “Mene, mene, tekel, and parsin” is spelled upon this world’s walls. Get your souls and your reputations ready.

Love you all,
