Blind Guides

At a press conference presidential candidate Donald Trump lambasted media reporters and did some name-calling. Naturally the reporters became indignant and took offence. In true Trump fashion the candidate simply dismissed them and their indignation. I thought of a similar situation when the Pharisees and teachers of the law accused the disciples of breaking the tradition of the elders because they failed to wash their hands before eating. Jesus not only took the Pharisees to task for their accusation, but he called them hypocrites. The disciples then came to Jesus and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?” He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. Leave them; they are blind guides. If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit” (Matt 15:12-14 NIV).

Gail;

-----Pres. George W. Bush ignored his critics, too. The mistake was so devastating to his political capital that its results undermined support for the entire Republican party and they were driven out of House and Senate control simultaneous to Bush’s retirement. Trump is showing how effectively Bush could have not only defended the conservative cause, but also could have advanced it with one minor adjustment: acknowledging the idiocy of the attack. Thereafter Trump and Bush alike do not dignify the fools with a fight.
-----This is called the “limp arm”. It was an effective strategy in the days when football was “three yards and a cloud of dust”. Rounding the corner of the line could be a big play if you could effectively deal with the approaching linebacker or safety. Often the ball carrier could give that defender his “free arm” for a handle and then let it go limp as a wet towel. Without a good wrap-up of the body, instead, now hanging onto what is freely flapping, the defender usually slips off like baggy pants.
-----But you’ve got to know when the strategy works and when a good reasoned, well engaged defense is better. So far, Trump has displayed an uncanny knack for discerning which to use. Unfortunately, the limp arm is ineffective against the dog-pile. I fear the lefty media, by giving Trump the limp arm itself, has suckered him into its favorite defensive zone: the dreadful dog pile. I am not at all sure his run will ever reach the goal line. And with Hn. Antonine Scalia’s seat up for a big lefty-lib’s sittin’, with a Hillary win, America dies immediately.
-----But I don’t think it much matters. Evidence of historical, Biblical, and lunar patterns indicate that even a Trump win only forestalls the greater dog-pile of international leftiness fawning all over Islamic aspiration. This world looks to be in a terrible mess, and it will get terribly messier surprisingly soon. However, remember, the Word of God acknowledges these conditions, and the Lamb of God is not yet finished giving Satan the limp arm. Once The Lamb has carried the ball across the goal line, the Lion of Judah has a dog pile of His own! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Can you sing, “Imagine no evil…”?
Love you all,
