As it relates to what comes out of his mouth, Donald
Trump is unfiltered. However, for the liberal media and politicians to step
forward as though they are the moral compass and conscience of America is
startling. Similar to the woman caught in adultery, the hypocritical media is
setting a trap for people of faith. Jesus reminds us, “If any one of you is
without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” (John 8:7b
NIV).

-----Tsadaq, the Hebrew root word for “righteousness” means not only doing and making right in a moral sense, but it also means doing and making right in a forensic sense. The Latin “forensis” alludes to the public place, like the market or the court square. It is where people brought their evidence for deliberation to determine truths about situations. And so that Latin root became our word for what is so much used in connection with the process of analyzing crime scenes -footprints, tire tracks, fingerprints, DNA traces, lint, and fuzz- that when we hear “forensic” we think “crime analysis”.
-----I am sure this entire world appears to be a crime scene from God’s perspective. Each who love Him must carefully be picking his way through it, finding and rightly sorting evidence, both of traces left by human activity and of God’s Word correlated properly with the matters at question. Each must use his mind rightly in order to approximate the true picture from bits and pieces of evidence. And in a fractured world like this, it takes a good deal of effort to discover, know, and understand the pictures our situations make rightly correlating with God’s will and purposes. But His promise is that heavily invested effort will be rewarded with the treasures of knowing and understanding, “My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.” (Prov 2:1-5)
-----Therefore, forensics is extraordinarily important for seeking His kingdom and His righteousness. Such seeking does not stop at just desiring and praying. The old gold prospectors did not sit around in their tents desiring and praying for gold and silver. They wore out the knees of their pants and their gloves picking and digging through the rocks and sand and gravel. They got intimately attentive, gently swirling the water in their pans just enough to wash away the dirt while leaving the tiny specks of gold. They poured themselves into their search with forensic minds applying all they knew about the conditions meaning “GOLD!”, yet ever learning more. Like a trace of lint or fuzz, Proverbs tips us off that Jesus was alluding to an active search for His kingdom and His righteousness.
-----Why should we not bring that search to our vote? Is our vote not important? Does it not effect God’s story -History? If Trump’s vulgarity is an issue, Hillary is right to point it out even though she is the rapist‘s cover. If not though, Hillary is the hypocrite. If it is an issue that Hillary’s operatives goading violent reactions at Trump rallies and taxiing vote frauders from polling place to polling place in rented cars, avoiding the detection buses would afford, then Trump’s pointing it out is exhibition of lint and fuzz for forensic thinkers. If not, then Trump is casting stones.
-----By God’s standards, the determination of these things is up to your righteousness, or to your wickedness. “Opinion” is merely a cover-word. Get your picks and shovels and go to work, because your vote will effect His-story. Make its effect right.
