In an act of defiance NFL football
players decided to take a knee rather than pledge allegiance to the American flag
and honor the National Anthem. I am offended, but rather than have my angst
spew all over the blog I looked for a spiritual application. Eureka…Maybe the
Lord is putting these guys on the field to practice taking a knee. “It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee
will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.’” So then,
each of us will give an account of himself to God” (Ro 14:11-12 NIV).

----Nothing of this world is homogeneous. Nothing of it is entirely good, or entirely bad. I bristled at these protesters. Then I realized the most of them are taking a knee FOR the flag and anthem ceremony. That’s at least a response to the presentation. That’s good. They protest excesses of police actions. In the last couple weeks, a deaf mute was shot for not responding to police commands as bystanders were shouting, “He’s deaf, he can’t hear you! He’s deaf, he can’t hear you!” Maybe the policeman was “hearing”, “He’s defiant, he won’t hear you!” Maybe he was just itching to shoot. Within a few days of that, another man was shot in his own home where the police were executing a no-knock raid at the wrong address. Oops. Bury that one too. And then, a few months ago, a lady was shot by the police who responded to her 911 call. She approached the police car to give them information about what she knew. Gee. She thought they were friends. These take-the-knee protests can’t be all that bad. But then again, at least two of these victims were white, for whom a good take-the-knee protest doesn’t count. Oops. Only black lives matter. Not so good.
-----In a news clip (I haven’t watched or listened to an NFL game yet this season) I saw one of these guys point the “Christian finger” heavenward and cross himself as he took his protest knee. Now maybe he was thinking similar to your advice, practicing for That Day. But, I have an odd feeling taking a couple knees then won’t need much practice. What we perceive in this life depends upon which information we attend. God’s people are destroyed by lack of knowledge. Everything is given a smiley face today. But what wears a mask will yet do the task of the brains behind it. The brains behind this take-the-knee stuff lean very far left. And we all know what the Bible says about the left. Even a listing of the Chumps of the Left is sufficient information to never lean left. At least I think so. I’m still trying to process all those Che Rivera T-shirts on the market. Nobody is going to lift this take-the-knee mask in plain view of the general public so it can see who‘s brains are behind it. Rush, Sean, Mark, and Mike have been lifting it every day for nearly a week now, but who listens to nut-burger talk radio?
-----Oh well. The libs can have this country. I think maybe God is finished with it anyway. America restrained evil of left-wing tyranny for half-a-century before succombing to that virus itself. Israel is even a nation by God using America’s past help. And it owns Jerusalem by God’s help. Now it’s time for Israel to face the world alone so they can make that 911 call on their God, while America obliviously stuffs deception into every orifice of its hollow head. At least its mask is smiling. Nothing’s entirely bad, or entirely good; everything is just a little bit deceptive.
