I recently
had a great conversation with a Jehovah’s Witness. She said, “I know we don’t come
from the same faith, but when I had a family crisis I thought of Jesus saying…”
For the next 30 minutes we mingled Scripture with our life experiences. Neither
of us were on a soapbox preaching at one another, nor were we trying to convert
the other to our denomination. It occurs to me that within our own denominations
we’re so busy practicing fellowship that we neglect in-depth Scriptural conversations.
Proverbs reminds us, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another” (Proverbs
27:17 NIV).
