Veterans
feel appreciated when people say, “Thank you for your service.” In the foyer of
the VA Hospital I often see volunteer veterans manning the popcorn machine,
serving at the reception desk and stocking the free book table. These
volunteers are not yet done serving and I’ve been remiss in not saying, “Thank
you for your continued service.” Paul
said, “We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s
gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is
serving, let him serve…” (Ro 12:6-7a NIV)
