Those of us
who go to the gym everyday often strike up casual conversations with one
another. I ask one gent, who is in his mid-80’s, what he had planned for the 4th
of July. He said, “I just finished building a tree house. It has a mini-bar.
From up there I can see all the valley landmarks and watch the fireworks with
nothing to obstruct my view.” I couldn’t collect my thoughts enough to ask the
size of the tree house, how many people it would accommodate, what type of tree
it was built in, or what type of ladder he had for access. All I could do was imagine
an 80-plus-year-old climbing down from of a tree house after having a glass of
wine. Proverbs said, “Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love
her, and she will watch over you” (Proverbs 4:6 NIV).
