Sober Judgment

As President Trump made plans to visit communities effected by the recent mass shootings some elected officials from those communities demanding he stay away. While these officials were elected to represent the people in government (local, state and federal), they seem to forget that they do not represent the people in life (emotionally, mentally or spiritually). Leaders in the church can display a similar attitude when they feel they can make all the decisions for their membership. Paul said, “For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you” (Ro 12:3 NIV).
