“Give us each day our daily bread.” (Lk 11:3 NIV) …and He gives so much more.

Gail; -----I am working on a new calendar that may more accurately relate the courses of my years. It will have one hundred-eighty-seven days: January 1 through July 4, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas. For several years now I have been trying to figure out where the second half of my years have gone. It seems anymore like just as July 4th is finishing the Broncos are out of playoff hopes again, “And may I have some more turkey?” I was feeling pressed to resolve this issue, my being fifty-three and all, but then I realized how little it really mattered. The more days I can stuff behind me on this little ball of evil tainted unreality, the closer comes the reality of purity, perfection, and eternity where the Lord will no longer allow the first inkling of error, let alone of evil. And on the one-hundred-eighty-sixth day of my year, for that I am thankful.
