Is God Unjust?
For me, Christmas day was spent shoveling snow. We had 12 inches of light and fluffy, however the town 10 miles north of here had no snow. “What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses, ‘I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.’” (Ro 9:14-15 NIV) I’m now pondering which town is the beneficiary.

-----Indeed, God makes it to rain and shine upon all alike. It is interesting that when He made this statement He did not indicate whether it was good to be shined upon or good to be rained upon. I suppose, since He made this analogy in an attempt to demonstrate how we should love our enemies as well as our friends, the rain might be taken as a blessing. After all, what we need to eat needed sometime to be rained upon. And, of course, sometimes it needed to be shined upon. But the last I knew, the watershed here runs to the North. So, the blessing of the moisture in our snow will shortly become their blessing of ground water as well. However, they did not have to shovel the stuff, nor throw down plastic shower curtains by the front door upon which to place all the wet and muddy shoes. Blessing to them, curse to us. But all their little spiders and other bugs are comfy and cozy, maybe in a frigid state, awaiting the spring thaw. The thaw will be a blessing to their bugs, but it will awaken a curse to them. On the other hand, our little bugs had better have built some little arks, because the thaw will be a curse to them, which will be a blessing to us. Well, I think we see a pattern here. I still love this snow, even though I had to shovel it some, and even though I have to be careful to step into the house upon the shower curtain. It is a beauty we only get to see a few weeks most years. Oh, yes! It is also a giant white cork shoved deeply into the mouths of the global warming fanatics, maybe the greatest curse/blessing of all.
