Mocking God
I’ve come to the conclusion I
need to distance my emotional reaction when the homosexual agenda that is thrown
in my face. While the gay community may think they are trying to make everyone bow
to their perceived rights, in reality they are demanding that God subjugate himself
to their agenda. Paul said, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man
reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful
nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the
Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become
weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not
give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good
to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers” (Gal
6: 7-10 NIV).

-----You picked the appropriate scripture. Though it hurts to experience the destruction of our commonly shared values, we can not get involved in feeling that pain. Of course, God didn’t call us to foolishness, or childishness, so we must note the destruction of what’s good. But our emotional involvement is for what builds up and produces good even in the midst of the severest demolition by evil’s best performance. Even if the only you action you can make in a situation is a minuscule good, it is far better to make it than a weighty evil. It is better to do nothing at all than to do evil.
-----What gets difficult is that telling the truth in love is doing good. And it’s a very important good to do. Just telling the truth can be doing evil. The purpose of its telling trumps the nature of its truth. But when a situation beckons the telling of truth, it must be told or evil is done. So, not only is the good way of response to the gay juggernaut narrow, it is necessary for your integrity in the Lord.
----- The more this world builds evil into its politics, the more issues like this become dangers to living in righteousness. You can invite the gay neighbor on one side and the black neighbor on the other for hot dogs and hamburgers every evening, but still, if you mention anything about the spiritual dangers of mocking God with either your sexual preference or your demand to riot and loot at the shooting of a black criminal, then you become the enemy of both neighbors still stuffed full of your burgers and hot dogs. It does not matter how good you are. It does not matter how much you love. If you do not lie for this evil flooding into our culture, if you do not lean forward for it, then you will be persecuted by it. And this effect will wax worse until eventually there will be nothing left we can do except tell and live the truth, “ If any one is to be taken captive, to captivity he goes; if any one slays with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.” (Rev 13:10)
