The Hand That Feeds

Last year the federal government listed the Gunnison Sage Grouse as “threatened” under the Endangered Species Act. I have to pause at man’s desire to put himself in the place of God and presume that we have the power to manipulate creation and be the savior of the planet — whether it be a species, the environment, or the weather. Jesus reminded us that God is still the Caregiver of creation. “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them” (Matt 6:26a NIV).

Gail;

-----I would gladly celebrate the EPA’s laws if they were about caring for the environment. But the EPA is not about the environment. The Endangered Species Act is not about protecting species in decline. Thinking otherwise is to think government is for the good of the people. Certainly that is the mission for which God authorized it. But it is not the mission for which human nature utilizes it. Study some history sometime.
-----Environmentalism thrives off the good heartedness of an environmentally concerned congregation. Without them, it would not be. But around them the government has built an industry. Scientific researchers are paid handsomely to comb the landscapes and beat the bushes for “failing species” creative artists will render into heartbreaking presentations for hanging like inspirational banners all around the sanctuary in which forceful preachers pound guilt into the congregation which can only be absolved by their voting for “the right” candidates and attiring their lives in green apparel, calling forth green factories and marketers promised unending demand stirred up by subliminal messages in every channel of public discourse, from news to entertainment to education, all slick and soapy for washing new brains into the congregation. Environmentalism has truly become a self-perpetuating, self-interested, opportunistic, living beast of prey, tackling and shaming every victim it cannot as well cripple and bind and pick its pockets for buying more biased research and conning art. Politicians get wealthy making new laws from environmental fancies discovered by scientific researchers, embellished by creative artists, and whipped into a lather by environmental preachers, laws steering more and more of the economy into the silk pockets of green factories and marketers, who share that wealth with these politicians’ campaign funds.
-----This monster absolutely lives. But since it is disembodied, no gunshots or poisons can kill it. It’s death will have to await the arrival of The Truth, Whose love living in every heart thereafter will naturally benefit the environment, which absolutely includes God’s precious people. Funny how an anthill, a beehive, even a beaver dam are all animal-built structures worshipped as holy, holy, holy elements of the environment, but highways, houses, cars, trains, and airplanes are structures not at all a part of it for protecting, though man who built them are animals too. Man is the most important part of the environment to God. So He will put an end to environmentalism’s man-hating delusion.

Love you all,
