Steve’s parting
comment on yesterday’s blog about the Clinton’s once again getting away
scot-free sparks the ire and high blood pressure in many of us. But will they really
get off scot-free? At the judgment of the dead John wrote that each person will
be, “…judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books” (Rev 20:12b
NIV). I trust that the Lord has recorded the deeds of the Clintons and will
hold them accountable. In the meantime, “Let him who does wrong continue to do
wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue
to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy” (Rev 22:11 NIV).

Gail;
-----”Let him who does right continue to do right;” is the one I am concerned about. When Cain whined to God about his own safety after murdering Abel, God put a mark on his forehead and swore that He would avenge anyone sevenfold who harmed him. Later, his great-great-great grandson, Lamech, killed a man and bragged to his wives that if God would avenge Cain’s killer sevenfold, then He would avenge his own killer seventy-sevenfold. By the time of Noah, the entire world was so corrupt it needed a major bath.
-----When Noah got off the ark after the world’s thorough scrubbing, God told him that no longer would man’s blood be spilt without answer. Through Noah, God charged man with the responsibility of recompensing murder and crime. Within a few short generations, human governments meant to recompense murder and crime were doing the murdering and committing crime in far greater numbers than were individuals.
-----Those who do right are the last line of temporal defense against crime. Those who are holy tend to get so self absorbed in their holiness that they wind up enabling crime and murder. We now have five dead policemen, another nine wounded, and because it was all about skin color, Kalyn Chapman James, the first black Miss Alabama, is calling their murderer a martyr instead of a murderer. Forget holy. That’s about going eternal. Are there not enough right-thinking people left in this world to stand up and shout her down along with shouting down “Pigs in a blanket, fry ‘em like bacon,” and “What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want them? Now!”? Really? Are we that out-numbered? Remember, God charged us through Noah to do some mopping up in this world too.
-----But no. All the right thinking people tend to turn holy, then get stupidly self-righteous. This is about black, therefore, somehow the false narratives, such as the gentleness of giant Michael Brown who assaulted a store clerk to rob a pack of cigars, becomes “hands up don’t shoot” instead of the truth shown by evidence of a head-down hard charging “bull”. All The King’s Men loving right can not quite seem to work together enough to pull down the mainstream media which props up all the evil-doers’ lying, chanting, and ensnaring.
-----You are right. The Bible bids history continue as such. But in that, I loose my opportunity to hope for any recompense at all. I want temporal recompense for these murderous, thieving, lying monsters. I don’t want recompense for them in the afterlife. That’s eternal stuff, and beyond any description of horrible. But still, this is all God’s storyline. And as such, like you’ve pointed out, standing back and watching seems to be the most we can do about the criminal climate because it seems to be the only unity we who love to do right have. Let’s just not neglect to be vocal to those around us about the Truth and the need to meet Him before being judged by Him. There is that little bit we can do on our own since all the holy are too holy to act together enough to do something about the rest.
Love you all,
Steve Corey
