Know Your Enemy

Many Republicans are stressed because Donald Trump is off message and rather than going after Hillary Clinton and the economy, he is attacking the media. I not only see his actions as a brilliant strategy, I believe it will be a blessing to believers. The liberal media is Hillary’s true running mate, her left hand man if you will…and the real enemy to Christian conservatives. Win or lose, Donald Trump should be given credit for calling out the liberal media, labeling them for who they are and shining a light on their hypocrisy. The Psalmist wrote, “How long will the enemy mock you, O God? Will the foe revile your name forever” (Psalm 74:10 NIV).

Gail;

-----You could not have said it better, truer, or more relevant to the very core of our troubles. Freedom of the press was established with the prospect that it would be used to illuminate the truth. It has been employed to cover up the truth for perpetuating lies.
-----Conservatives always bemoan crony capitalism as if it were the core of our evils. It is at the core. But it isn’t the core. And although the deceitful media is not itself the core of our evils, it is even more complicit in them than is crony capitalism. Real freedom is found only in the combination of pure capitalism and media integrity. By its watch for truth against deceit, media integrity maintains pure capitalism, whereas pure capitalism does not necessarily assure media integrity.
-----The Conservatives have had this focus wrong since the end of the Reagan administration. Reagan loved Winthrop’s shining city on a hill. It shined by its integrity, having abundant wax and wick by pure capitalism. But after Reagan, all the city’s attention was given over to the means of producing and distributing wax and wicks rather than actually lighting those wicks in the wax and placing them for maximum illumination. Had Conservatives paid attention to that, we would not be in this mess. The city would be shining on the hill rather than darkened in a pit.
-----Is there need for evidence? Here‘s an example. The media learned its true power by roasting Nixon over the fanatically fanned fire of Watergate. With only some whispering of a man in the dark, the media dug up enough dirt for Nixon’s grave and several of his cabinet members, with plenty left to sling all over Republicans everywhere. Yet the same media was drug kicking and screaming into the Vince Foster/Ft Marcy Park thing, peering at it only through cracks between their own fingers tightly covering their own eyes. Christopher Rudy was actually fired by the Chicago newspaper for whom he was uncovering the amazing truth about Vince Foster’s murder. They kept telling him to drop the story, but he wouldn‘t. Although it was a bit more criminal than some third rate office burglary, this crime’s President was much more media-beloved than was the burglar President. So cover up the carpet fibers, Rudy; it was a suicide, nothing to see here; move on to the dastardly deeds of the Republicans. That’s just how things work in the media.
-----Here’s a quick look at media history and politics: Nixon - hack, hack; Ford - hack, hack; Carter: cover up, cover up; Reagan: hack, hack; Bush Sr.: hack, hack; Clinton: cover up, cover up; W: hack, hack, chop, chop, grind, dispose; Obama: cover up, boot lick, smooch, worship. Hillary, well, I won’t mention what they’re doing with her under the covers up.
-----I hate to say this about America, but the 1st Amendment gave us the option of going insane on lies. And we’ve taken it. Had our Founding Fathers treated truthful information as the intangible, yet very valuable property that it is, the 1st Amendment would have also protected the citizen’s right to be served the truth. Then we could have some very solid laws against discernable deceit in mass media the same way we have laws against fraud in business communications. There’s little more I would love to see than prisons teeming with media liars, politicians, lawyers, and kangaroo judges. “You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality; and you shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous.” (Deut 16:19)

Love you all,
