Many people of faith will be
distraught by the passage of Colorado Proposition 106 which makes assisted
death legal under some circumstance. We continue to watch as man sets himself
up to be God and control life and death. The book of Revelation paints a
different picture of assisted death. The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, the
Abyss opened and locust came down on the earth. “They were told not to harm
the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not
have the seal of God on their foreheads. They were not given
power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony
they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a
man. During those days men will seek death, but will not
find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them” (Rev 9:4-6 NIV).

-----1493-1494, 1949-1950, 1967-1968, and 2014-2015 saw total lunar eclipses in sets of four on the Jewish holy days Passover, Tabernacles, Passover, Tabernacles. The meanings of the 1949-1950 and 1967-1968 tetrads (as these signs are called by eschatologists) are clear as a bell. The meaning of the 1493-1494 tetrad is somewhat less clear, yet is clear enough to know. The expulsion of the Jews from Spain in the same year Columbus discovered America are two correlating strands of history. The Jews wound up in dire need of their own nation. America trounced Hitler’s attempt to exterminate the Jews and provided essential political and monetary support of the new Jewish nation. America, basically, was the glove God wore in securing a place for His chosen people. That’s what the 1493-1494 tetrad was about -the beginning of that process of bringing the state of Israel into being.
-----Hosea 5:14-6:2 indicates the Lord will tear apart Israel and Judah and return to His place. By AD136, Israel was torn. After two days, on the third, when Israel and Judah acknowledge their mistake and seek Him in their distress, then He would return and revive them and raise them up. -----The pouring of the sixth bowl of wrath sends three fowl spirits throughout the world to assemble all the nations at Armageddon. “2For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women ravished; half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle. 4On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives which lies before Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley; so that one half of the Mount shall withdraw northward, and the other half southward.” (Zechariah 14:2-4) From these prophecies we know that eventually Israel must go it alone. We also know that the one who restrains the man of lawlessness must be removed before the man of lawlessness is revealed. (II Thes 2:7-8) America is not necessarily the one restraining as much as it is the one the restraining one is currently using to restrain. America certainly restrained Hitler from exterminating God’s people. And America has aided in restraining the Islamic hordes from annihilating Israel. Note what happened when the lefties attacked Bush for his war on terrorism. The removal of America from that restraint has left nothing but Islamic flames in its wake.
-----The 2014-2015 tetrad very sensibly marks the beginning of a process which will eventually leave Israel standing alone amidst all of the nations of the world thirsting for its blood. That is right where God wants Israel. For without any help remaining, all Israel can do is acknowledge its mistakes and call on God. As the 1493-1494 tetrad meant Israel and America’s intertwining for God’s bringing forth the nation of Israel, the 2014-2015 tetrad is sensibly meaning the beginning of the end of that process.
-----I thank God for the relief Pres-elect Trump might represent. God’s processes do not just flow through history. They ebb and flow and ebb and flow. Noting Colorado’s Prop 106, Trump’s indication that gay marriage is now too engaged in the legal/cultural system to reverse, the current whiner-riots revealing the continued rise of mob mentality instead of respect for law, etc. expect only a refreshing ebb before it all flows Forward.
