As the election winds down, whether
I support Trump or Clinton as the leader of the free world is not the issue. I
can find peace in Paul’s comments, “It does not, therefore, depend on man’s
desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. For the Scripture
says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display
my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth” (Ro 9:16-17
NIV).

Gail;
-----Cain feared for his life after he slew Abel. He complained to God that anyone who found him would slay him. Regardless of the fact Cain plotted Abel’s death, leading him out to the field where he could kill him, and doing it for no good reason whatsoever, God marked Cain so that nobody would kill him. Lamech, Cain’s great, great, great grandson also killed a man. He bragged to his wives that if Cain would be avenged sevenfold should he be slain, then he would be avenged seventy-seven fold. Man grew in a lawless society until his unfettered imagination was full of only evil all the time. That was the situation.
-----The Flood was a paradigm shift for mankind. God told Noah after he had departed the ark to avenge the blood of murder. Mankind was to enact and uphold law. Notice that Noah was the father of all humanity since The Flood. Notice that this commandment of God, therefore, went out to all the world through Noah. God expects man to take part in regulating evil from each others actions. This is the situation.
-----Most nations received their kings and dictators from royal birth. This went so ill that eventually most nations began electing rulers. That’s where we are. And, although Jesus Christ is so soon to be in Jerusalem teaching righteousness, peace, and joy to all the nations, we plebes and peons yet share a responsibility for the character governing us. Although societal conditions are to dump into the toilet before Christ returns, for the several years left we share responsibility.
-----The basic difference between Trump and Clinton is the difference between governing and criminaling. It is the difference between right and left, good and evil. In as much as man yet shares responsibility for these next several years of governance, the issue at hand is indeed about which direction that short spell of governance will take. It is about whether or not we might influence enough good into one another for electing a swam drainer to the highest office of the free world, or a swamp monster. This is God’s test of today‘s people.
-----We will arrive at Satan seated briefly in The Temple regardless of electing a swamp drainer. We will arrive at Christ reigning from The Temple for a thousand years regardless of electing a swamp monster. But what will these next four to eight years be for us? Evil? Or slightly better? Regardless of the fact that Satan will briefly rule before Christ hands him his butt on a plate, it is the issue.
-----Since Noah, mankind’s somewhat fettered imagination has been filling with evil until soon it will be full of only evil all the time again. That script is written. God will bring to mankind a paradigm shift of far more import than was The Flood. That script is written. But the script of these next four to eight years we get to effect, though not completely write. And the closer November Fools Day comes, the more the issue is whether we interject into God‘s script a swamp drainer, or a swamp monster. With all my heart, for my wife, my daughters and grandchildren, my moms and dad and friends and neighbors and all the people I love I pray from the depths of my heart the few good of us left can influence enough vote to enjoy a swamp drainer. It is the issue of this five day situation. I will not let God down with passivity. I will be active for His righteousness, into which the swamp drainer better fits.
Love you all,
Steve Corey
