We just
listed our house with a realtor and now I have to prepare for local realtors to
tour my home and to schedule showings for perspective buyers. I’m not concerned
with getting it ready to show, but rather in keeping it show-ready. Until
we get a contract on the house, I’m going to be forced to stay in a state of
readiness. Spiritually speaking, Paul gives us a similar charge, “But in your
hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to
everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter
3:15a NIV).
