Labor Pains

Even though we moved into our new house in October, we continue to have a punch-list of things that need attention. Most recently we discovered a leak in a shower and the tile must be removed around the drain in order fix the problem. At this point I can only compare building a new house to being pregnant…nine months of anticipation, labor pains and birth. I know that when it is completely finished, I will enjoy the new house; however, getting to the end has been painful. Jesus said, “A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world” (John 16:21 NIV).
