Covetousness

Many Democratic presidential candidates are, in one form or another, promoting socialism. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren plan to take money from the wealthiest Americans and give it to others and in doing so they want us to believe they are looking out for the interests of the less fortunate. However, these political candidates are so obsessed with wealth that I’m now wondering if they aren’t in fact leading their supporters into coveting wealth. Paul said, “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law” (Romans 13:8-10 NIV).
