As an adult
I’ve found myself in a number of long-term care-giving situations and I’ll admit
that over the years I’ve thrown a few pity parties. During a recent poor-me situation
I was brought up short when the Spirit within me ask if I’d rather be a caregiver,
or a care-receiver. In his farewell to the Ephesians Paul said, “ In everything
I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak,
remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to
give than to receive’” (Acts 20:35 NIV).
