Disciples
questioned Jesus about the sin associated with a man who was born blind. Jesus
said, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened so that
the work of God might be displayed in his life” (John 9:3
NIV). I always assumed the work of God was displayed at the moment of healing,
but I’m now reconsidering that thought. The verse states that God’s work will
be displayed in the man’s life, not in his healing. In other words, what the
man does with the rest of his life, after he received his sight, will display
the work of God.
