Ashamed of My Word
According to news reports Pastor Rick Warren (The Purpose Driven Life) has apologized to his homosexual friends for his past comments in support of California’s Proposition 8, the marriage protection amendment. In a transcript from his sermon in early November Warren tells church members, “…if you believe what the Bible says about marriage, you need to support Proposition 8.” Fast forward to Monday night and the Pastor told the audience of Larry King Live that he never once endorsed Proposition 8. Jesus has something to say about those of us who hide behind political correctness, “If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.” Mark 8:38 NIV

Gail;
-----I know what the Bible says about the nature of man, governments, and the times in which we live. So I would at least join Rick Warren in apologizing to the homosexuals for trying to make America into a church. America is the product of multitudes of people surrendering a portion of their personal freedom so its government can have the authority to make a place where it is safe to enjoy the rest of the freedoms they are keeping. The relevant points are how much freedom must be surrendered to form a good government, what is actually true about its matters, and are the majority of the people properly informed about that truth. I would not apologize for America’s values coming to resemble more closely those of the Word through the beliefs of the majority.
-----But how shameful would the smaller group of people be who forced their moral values upon the rest of us! How disgusting they would be if they hid relevant facts and information about their moral values which, when known, would illuminate the actual immorality of their values! How irresponsible they would be for wanting their values to form society when their values are verifiably detrimental to individuals and completely toxic to the integrity of a society’s knowledge and belief system! I would not apologize to the homosexuals for revealing them to be that small group. Nor would I apologize for believing and speaking the truth about the Word and of the Word. And I would not apologize for influencing my neighbor to do the same. If the time ever came that the majority of the people understood even the basics of the Word enough to recognize the spiritual, societal, and personal detriments of homosexuality, I would not apologize to the homosexuals for holding open the closet door while they got voted back to where they belong. Nor will I apologize for feeling this way, because knowledge of the Word is more secure than populist thought or governmental protection.
-----Although the mass of Americans have been duped into embracing this little group of deceivers, Jesus Christ has not. The breathe of His Word will soon melt all governments and those who deceive through them. Since I love people who are being destroyed by the insanity of homosexuality, I will try to convince them to stand with us on the Word and shed their destruction. The danger is not that the will of the masses and its government are in jeopardy, it is that the homosexual is in jeopardy. The government is already tagged for the fire, but until the last refusal to repent and call upon Christ is made, the person is not.
Love you all,
Steve Corey
