Thanksgiving

I need this Thanksgiving reminder. “I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” (1Tim 2:1 NIV) Interestingly, this was written by Paul when the notorious Roman emperor Nero was in power.

Gail;
-----And we now read I Tim 2:1 when the notorious Obama is emperor. It was hard to understand Paul's thanks given for Nero, although I can easily imagine the prayers for him. But now, after seeing many things to be thankful about from Obama's administration, I understand better. People are working together to bring common sense and wisdom back to the political arena. They have awakened and are seeing the perils of left-wing politics they refused to believe only a few months ago. Now folks are starting to talk about needing not Democrats or Republicans in Washington, but truthfulness and honesty. And for many years, that has been our prayers. How far this reaction will procede depends upon our prayers today and tommorrow. Even if our prayers will not succeed in preventing these left-wing revolutionaries from destroying our great country from within, we can all be thankful that politics are Tidleywinks compared to eternal life. And no one needs a politician to have that.

Love you all,
Steve Corey
