Lord Willing
Every once in a while a situation will come up where I’ll come hear
someone say, ‘I have to pray about it and
see if it’s what the Lord wants me to do’. While there is something to be
said about waiting on the Lord for His direction, the flip side would be those
who say they are going to do such and such, ‘The
Lord willing.’ With the Spirit living within us, I’ve been contemplating
which position He finds more challenging – that of motivating the believer into
action or that of stopping them when they are headed the wrong direction.

Gail;
-----What would this world be like if the Lord really motivated His believers into action? If He really stopped those headed the wrong way? I’m not saying He doesn’t do this at all. I sincerely believe He does both in many subtle ways for many subtle purposes. Proverbs sketches pictures of a man’s path being his choice while his steps belong to God. Jesus spoke in parables to prevent Israel from understanding and returning to God. God can motivate or stop anyone and everyone completely, suddenly, and obviously. Obviously He doesn’t. What would this world be like if He did?
-----Do you think it would be a better place? The colors brighter? Birds chirping sweeter? Flowers smelling more vivid? Weeds gone? People friendlier, kinder, and more co-operative? Bread easier and cheaper? A happier life? With Satan still here? Demonic hosts yet roaming? What mischief would Satan make while everyone is fully believing all's well in Whoville?
-----God is a most incredible thing. His purposes are a must. Imagine the deceitful Destroyer running free with his hellacious minions throughout God’s Heaven for eternity. Consider how deceit spreads inconspicuously and thoroughly. Eternity is plenty of time for it to distort everything. Bagging these critters and pitching them out of His realm is a must for God.
-----Today, Satan and crew are rather, yet maybe not completely, quarantined within the physical universe. So naturally their attention is drawn to one infinitesimally small speck upon which God has created us. While a marauding horde of spiritual deceit and destruction absolutely plagues existence, God still piddles with the petty problems of the tiny snap, crackle, pops of our individual lives, as if they are any at all important.
-----The secret be known, they are important. I don’t mean like we each are singularly the importance of all. But your importance is the battle line between Satan and God. And your perception of it is your battle. Any heart can only feel its own thoughts and emotions and sense what its own body directly contacts. All other experiences of any other hearts comes only secondhand - word of mouth, not as real or significant as our own. Each soul is like it is quarantined inside its own body away from the vastness of reality. This draws the battle line through the heart. Without an intersubjective realization of the sameness of seven billion other souls here in Whoville, it is totally easy to perceive one’s own thoughts and emotions as the primary purpose of life. But hard efforts of consideration envision the purpose of one’s own personal experiences to primarily be benchmarks for knowing how to serve good to any life one’s self touches (the Golden Rule.) These purposes lay on God’s side of the battle line in your heart.
-----So whatever serves such purpose must be will of God and what He wants for that individual. And “whatever” includes many different options amongst good things. If not, then God’s purpose for your life is narrower and more sharply aimed at a specific objective. Some lives are specific: Moses, Daniel, John the Baptist, Jesus, Mary, etc. That is God's choosing, not yours. I think what His owning your steps means, I think what “if its His will” and “what He wants you to do” means, is your choosing a path from any of those meandering around on His side of the battle line. And I’ve always felt that by His ownership of my steps, if I chose a path He needs me not to be on, He would walk my steps to another because I ask that. Then together, all lives do effect what of His purpose He needs from each to complete His totally sacking the deceitful Destroyer and crew.
Love you all,
Steve Corey
