Marathon

The government is assuring us they will find out who is responsible for the Boston Marathon bombings and that justice will be served on those who perpetrated this act of violence. Most of us are anxious for the results of the investigation, but we may be overlooking the fact that God knows who is responsible and we can play a part in the situation by petitioning Him in prayer to quickly reveal those who have committed the crime. “So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.” (Matt 10:26 NIV)

Gail;

-----I feel a lot of sorrow for those seriously injured in the bombing and for those whose loved ones died. I feel little for the slightly injured, because I love the truth, and the truth is, human nature craves the rare experience, which they now have, morbid or not. Even those who went missing limbs from the blast will eventually adjust. And although the difficulty of negotiating life without an useful part will be ever present, the experience of being a part of a moment which defined a nation’s consciousness for a day or so will rather define their consciousness into the future. They will all be OK.
-----I’m not saying this makes it any better. I’m saying “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,” should not be an expression ended within a prayer. Indeed it invites God to do with us by His way for His purposes. Then, how does such evil as this bombing accomplish the purposes of an Holy God? I’m not like most folks who say there is no way of knowing. I am certain there is. And I believe all of us who know the Lord have stepped somewhat into knowing it. We could study much further into it if we spent the scientific time and effort to do so.
-----Please don’t cringe at the sound of science. Many people have given us their tragic stories and resulting good. Science is just studying them. The only thing wrong with science is scientists. Scientific process itself leads to the truth, because it examines by principles of the truth, which is, at its core, Jesus Christ. The bias of scientists, not science, has led to Darwinism, Higher Criticism, Social Justice, and multitudes of other errors ranging from humorous aberrations to grotesque dodges around truth’s core. So science isn’t the things these biased scientists have concluded; truth is that things have been concluded by scientists’ biases.
-----Now “bias” is merely a different sense of “partisanship”, only slightly differing from “favoritism”. Bias, partisanship, and favoritism infuriate the Holy God because they sequester sorted aspects of reality where lies form about it. Only last week I noticed bits and pieces of another event protruding somewhat into our national consciousness. Indeed, it was not plunged there like was this bombing. What was so shocking about the bombing? The hurting of innocents? The quiet event hurt the more innocent. The number of those hurt? No. The quiet event has hurt thousands a day for many decades. The difference seems that those who bugle for scientists and not God bugle the bombing only. Only those who bugle for God and not scientists are also fussing about not Kermit Gosnell’s stabbing newly born babies he failed legally to kill, but about God‘s given process for making human souls being judged by man as the place to kill freely! Grotesquely kill. Without conscience, kill.
-----I don’t think a society so given to such biased blindness towards the simplest of concepts has any reason to capture the Boston Marathon Bomber other than selfish, spiteful vengeance. It doesn’t want killing any more? No. It accepts and pays worse than him to kill far, far, far more than he and those like him could kill in their lifetimes. Oh! It’s who is killed! Babies inside mommies are ok. Sorry if that hurts anybody’s feelings. It’s just something I’ve lately noticed as God develops His Kingdom by His will. When society stalks the bomber AND abortionists, I will think differently. But before then, I fear, the grapes of wrath will be trod.

Gail;
-----Last night gave us a measuring stick for the attitudes in reporting the Boston Marathon Bombing. Near Waco a fertilizer plant detonated, killing fifteen and injuring another one-hundred and sixty. Now, the injured are slightly less than those of the Boston blasts, but the dead are five times as many. I just turned my TV on to observe the news coverage, the wall to wall, moment by moment, live special report, that continuous rumination of the same handful of facts over and over and over and over to the same few video clips rebroadcast ad infinitum into the escalating sensations of doom and gloom emitting from ever blabbing talking heads. I found the usual litany of vain commercials preceding a frivolously jolly cast of news-celebs leading into the regular news which served up a two minute story on the Waco blast just before spending another minute on today’s aftermath of Monday’s marathon bombing. No wonder three thousand plus innocent babies killed before (or slightly after) birth every day does not warrant the same wall to wall, moment by moment, horrified special reporting! Five times the dead in a blast so gigantic it registered 2.9 on the Richter scale does not draw even a scintilla of the media attention given a couple pressure cookers charged with a little black powder. It is not the intensity of a blast leveling buildings in the neighborhood, severely damaging them for blocks around, and killing five times the people that draws this news attention. It must be that somebody deliberately charges the pressure-cooker. Oops. Hundreds of somebodies deliberately kill thousands of unborn people everyday. Uh. Maybe not that, either. In fact, I remember the Branch Davidian snafu, and the horrific coverage it occasioned. But that coverage was not about the horrors befalling those poor folks in their own home (whatever you want to call it, it was their home.) It was about the horrors they deserved for defending their right to own and stockpile guns. Oh my! GUNS! Yes. I think we are beating this concept against the threshing floor of truth enough to see a few kernels of it emerge. It’s all about agenda. Poor babies don’t fit it. Poor fertilizer workers don’t fit it. Poor Branch Davidians don’t fit it. But draw a picture of a gun in school or detonate a little black powder in public, and shazaam! You’ve got to wash the media off with a fire hose! If we don't stop agenda driven news our society will become the vomit the dog returns to.
