The huge pasta salad I brought to share basically went untouched and there
was little time to visit with anyone because while we were eating most of the
others were packing up to go home.
I felt embarrassed, discouraged and frustrated. In hindsight I should
have just shrugged off the main course and simply joined everyone else with
their dessert.
I can picture people who are new to the faith having similar feelings
when they walk into the ‘spiritual potluck’ at church and feel as though they
are coming in late to the party.
I think I’ll start telling them it’s OK to eat dessert first and then
go back for the main course.

Gail;
-----Mistakes and errors are common to us all. So the confusion set upon your church’s potluck is not reflective of poor leadership as much as it is that someone had a bad day trying to organize it. It can be worth a chuckle because one meal messed up will effect nobody’s health.
-----But much nutrition of the “spiritual potluck” of church has been leached away by the over control of leaders who’ve had many, many centuries of bad organizational days. They then turn around and wonder about such things as why our grown children are leaving church in droves. Dessert is not good as a constant diet.
Love you all,
Steve Corey
