Pay it Forward

A column in a local newspaper titled “You Said It” allows readers to write in and share brief thoughts on activities and observances in the community. Often a writer will comment on the stranger who picked up their tab for groceries, or the anonymous person who paid for their meal at a restaurant. In publically thanking their anonymous benefactor the writer-recipient invariably adds the caveat that they will pay-it-forward by showing the same generosity to another. It strikes me as curious that it’s only when a stranger does a kindness that you hear of people paying-it-forward. I’m now wondering if we sometimes take the kindness shown to us by fellow believers for granted.  Jesus said, “Do to others as you would have them do to you” (Luke 6:31 NIV).

Gail;

-----The second law of thermodynamics is quite interesting. It implies that the universe is wearing down as everything seeks its lowest state of energy. If allowed to run on until that day, chaos would be the universal order. Nothing would relate to anything else. There would be no more interaction, for interaction requires energy, and nothing would have any of that left. Relationship would be no more.
-----Every cause produces an effect. Every effect had a cause. This principle is unconstrained. Therefore the second law of thermodynamics is a pathway to chaos. If there were one constraint, the second law of thermodynamics would not be. I don’t know what we would call the law replacing it, but it would be pretty nice. What would that one constraint be?
-----It would be that every cause must produce only beneficial effect. Disruptive effects would be non-existent. From every quark through every electron and proton and atom and molecule, nothing would interact with anything else lest the effects of that interaction would be beneficial. Then, every crystal, every conglomerate, every cell, body, and living organism would not only be composed of eternally energetic matter, but falling under the same law constraining causes to the production of only good effects, every organism would interact with every other one only to produce benefits. Kind of the ultimate pay-it-forward.
-----Most folks think God’s a Nazi because His Word is so constraining upon mankind. They don’t realize it must be constraining because we live in the existence ruled by the law of non-constraint. In extracting us from this pit of doom God is not a Nazi because He allows us to freely choose the law under which we will eternally exist. We can choose the law of chaos, or the law of pay-it-forward - the law of mutual benefit.
-----After this current existence has fled from the Face of the Judge, God will create a new existence upon the foundation of this one. In place of the second law of thermodynamics will be the principle of mutual benefit. It will not be forced upon nobody as if by a Nazi, because all of God’s angels and heavenly critters have already made their individual choice to enjoy that law instead of our current one. And everyone of us who will be there will have made the same choice to enjoy the same law of mutual benefit, the law of love, the law of truth that are the underlying substance of The Word which produced this “first cause” of the new law in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. That’s why we have to come to the Father through Him, which coming is the first effect upon our spirits for all the rest of eternity. I praise God immensely that my spirit now exists in a state of only benefit, always benefit, benefit to everything it effects, because it has joined with God’s Holy Spirit and thus been made alive. Though the electrons, protons, atoms, and molecules, and cells, and all other substances of my body and mind produce the rather chaotic effects of this world’s law - the sin into which I was born - my spirit and future are not effected by it in the least because it has been born under the law of love, the new law. Gee. I guess the replacement law has been named. And quite the opposite of seeking state of lowest existence, everything then on seeks the state of most relationship, most praise to God, most thanks, most joy, as the new universe will never cease expanding with good being constantly returned for good of anyone it touches.

Love you all,
