The Voice

During my visit to the square dance club I learned that square dancing calls, regardless of what country you are visiting, are always called in English. In a sense, Christians are assured of a similar level of confidence because we understand the language that comes from the Lord. Jesus said of his followers, “But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” (John 10:5 NIV).

-----I like to use jigsaw puzzles to illustrate truth. Nobody has all the pieces of the puzzle. Still, all the pieces any particular individual has fit together in only one way. That’s the nature of the truth. Every piece has its own relationship to all the other pieces, and that relationship is not variable because neither are all the other pieces variable. Each and every piece is what it is. Therefore, that different folks call the same piece by different names and have different perceptions of it has no affect upon what that piece is. It still is what it is, and its relationship with all the other pieces is still known only by gaining experience with the puzzle. Since Jesus Christ is the truth, everyone who knows Him indeed knows Him the same, though their perceptions of Him might vary.

Love you all,
