Keeping Watch

In November of 2016 one of our local deputies was ambushed in a remote area of the county. The assailant shot at the officer six times at close range, but miraculously the only wound inflicted on the officer was a gunshot to the hand. The officer returned fire shooting the assailant in the head. The motive for the ambush is unclear, but the assailant disliked law enforcement and I suspect he thought he could kill the officer and get away with it because there were no witnesses. Unfortunately, people of faith fall into a similar trap when we think there are no witnesses. “The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good” (Proverbs 15:3 NIV).

Gail;

-----Every man, woman, and child ever born will find the witnessing eyes of the Lord to also be the scrutinizing eyes of the Judge. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Lord. So Paul entreats us to be sober and work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. If we climb into His hands, we will not have to fall there. But eventually everyone will be there for either casting into the lake of fire or carrying into the kingdom of Heaven. Thus He holds the whole world in His hands.

Love you all,
