Transparency

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is conducting raids on criminal illegal aliens and the liberal left is crazed. Criticizing the Trump administration Senator Chuck Schumer (D) said, “I’m troubled by lack of transparency…” It would be hard to conceive anyone counseling David, a warrior king, to be more transparent when he went on a raid, “Now David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites and the Amalekites. (From ancient times these peoples had lived in the land extending to Shur and Egypt.) Whenever David attacked an area, he did not leave a man or woman alive, but took sheep and cattle, donkeys and camels, and clothes. Then he returned to Achish” (1 Samuel 27:8-9 NIV).

Gail;

-----That was an intentionally deceitful thing for the man after God’s own heart to do. And I do seem to recall God calling forth a lying spirit from His council to trick Ahaz into a trap. Moreover, “[Jesus’] brothers said to him, ‘Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples may see the works you are doing‘…Jesus said to them, ’…Go to the feast yourselves; I am not going up to this feast’…So saying, he remained in Galilee. But after his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly but in private.” OH, my. Even Jesus is being opaque! But think of the veil left over the Israelite’s eyes, the parables in which Jesus spoke so that hearing, they would not hear. Indeed, the entire material being of this physical existence is something to which our senses have been constrained so that we might not see into the mysteries of God’s spiritual realms. Transparency is not worth much where we live.
-----Let me suggest what is wroth a little. Forensics. Investigation. Search and research. Because regardless of the opaqueness of this dark little world, everything leaves tracks and traces of what it really is. To have eyes to see and ears to hear is to have reason for curiosity regarding the tracks and traces of truth about God and us. It is to search for them like gold. It is to seek them more than silver, receiving His word and treasuring His commandments, “making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright.” (Prov 2:2-7) Transparency belongs only to those who love the truth more than their own lives, and thus follow the trail of crumbs the Lord has left to it.
-----Yes, Chucky Schumer, I’m not surprised to hear you admit being troubled by any lack of transparency, seeing you have no eyes nor ears for finding truth through the same darkness in which you also hide yourself.

Love you all,
