As a
journalist I keep a tickler file of records and quotes which documents
improprieties, abuse and infractions…both in the world and in the church. On
the one hand it helps me recall situations and present facts; however, it can
also serve as a grudge file. Paul’s instruction in I Corinthians 13, the
Love Chapter, brings me up short. Concerning love Paul said, “It is not rude,
it is not self–seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of
wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth” (1
Cor 13:5-6 NIV).
