Hurricane
Dorian is poised to hit the US this week and I expect the media to report that
global warming played a role in the severity. However, I did not expect conspiracy
theories that this category-five storm is deliberately man-caused. I’m baffled
when people try to marginalize God by asserting that man controls nature. Jesus
and the disciples were on the lake when a furious storm came up and the waves swept
over the boat. Jesus was sleeping, “The disciples went and woke him, saying,
“Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of
little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and
the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and
asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him” (Matt
8:25-27 NIV).
