A person of
faith posted on Facebook, “I’m going to see who really cares…I need a hug or
two! To give me a hug, like and share this post. I know who will hug me and who
will not.” For starters I hate emotional blackmail. That aside, I really don’t
understand believers who, rather than turning to the Lord, feel they can be
comforted through a like or a share on Facebook. The Psalmist said, “Why are
you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for
I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God” (Psalm 42:5-6a
NIV).
