Hear, Retain and Produce

In the Parable of the Sower, a farmer went out to sow seed and some seed fell along the path, some fell on rock, some fell among thorns and other seed fell on good soil. Jesus explained the “seed” is the Word of God, leaving some of us to think about being selective with where we sow seed. But the Lord never said to stop scattering seed even if it lands on the path, the rocks and among thorns. Jesus said, “But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop” (Luke 8:15 NIV).
