Serving the Same God

As a Veteran, I appreciate the honor and recognition of yesterday’s Veterans Day celebrations. While there is healthy competition amongst all the branches of service (go Navy!), each branch of the military has a different strength, and they serve with a different focus and purpose of mission…but they all serve the United States of America. On the religious landscape, I can’t help but wonder if we have forgotten that we do not serve a denomination, but we serve God. Paul said, “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men” (1 Cor 12: 4-6 NIV).
