Door of Opportunity

Yesterday, at 4:00 p.m. on Halloween, a young man about 13 or 14 years-old knocked on the door and said, “Trick or Treat”. He was alone, not in costume and carried only a backpack. By all appearances he was simply on his way home from school and Halloween became an opportunity to go door-to-door and ask for an after school snack. After handing him some mini candy bars and closing the door I chuckled at his ingenuity. Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matt 7:7-8 NIV).
