Labor Day
“Then I heard a voice from heaven say, ‘Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. ‘Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them’.” Revelation 14:13 NIV

Gail; -----I must be getting closer to that rest. I used to wonder why everyone celebrated labor day by taking the day off. After all, that day honors labor. So I always worked on labor day, until I married Char. She wanted the three day weekend, usually to go camping. So, of course, I would go along, begrudgingly. But this year I reminded Char it was labor day weekend, and I made the plans for camping. I was ready for it all week. I guess, now that I am cresting the hill and facing into the shorter half of my life, rest is taking on a new meaning as I begin to learn the fuller relevance of the term “senior syndrome.”
