Understanding Slowness

After more than two years of petitioning the Lord, my daughter Leslie’s condo is finally under contract to sell. I’m reminded of God’s patience — whether it is waiting for one more soul to come to know Jesus, or to sell a condo. Peter said, “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:8-9 NIV).

Gail;

-----Why is it that the Lord is always slow? Most every young lady knows that most every boy is too fast. And adults know children as too fast. When my daughters were children, they were always ready for the candy, the popcorn, the movie, the swimming party, the trip to Waterworld long before the clock, the calendar, or the budget got there. Why is it they are always too fast? Maybe we are them and the Lord is the clock, the calendar, and the budget. He’s not slow. He’s just right.

Love you all,
