Some believers look at the recent
eclipse as an end-times sign. Jesus said, “Immediately after the distress of
those days “‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the
stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’” It
remains to be seen whether or not this event is a precursor of the Lord’s
return as mentioned in Scripture. However, I have to give these folks kudos
for looking into God’s Word rather than simply looking at the sun to experience
the solar eclipse. “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the
sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man
coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And
he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his
elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other” (Matt
24:29, 30-31 NIV).

-----Seeing the Son of Man’s appearing in this eclipse is not the best sight of a “sign“. I mean, His return would be near the best of things to see. But as a sign of that appearing, it would be a little late to inform. It would be like a sign reading, “Caution, brick wall in road” taped to the brick wall that’s in the road. Besides, I haven’t seen Jesus return now for this second day after.
-----Luke 21:25-27 reads, “And there will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth distress of nations in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting with fear and with foreboding of what is coming on the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” The first thing to note about this passage is that it is not “the sign,” or “a sign,” which there will be, but “signs.” Note the total lunar eclipses on Passover and Tabernacles of 1493-4, 1949-50, 1967-8, and 2014-15. Note the Revelation 12:1-6 portent 11:30AM September 23. I assure you, these are but a tiny few of the all the signs that have been happening in the sky. Space limitation precludes any further listing. You’ll need to wait for my book for the rest, or catch me at the office on a lazy day with two or three hours to spare.
-----Think about how God communicates with us. I’ve noticed in my life that He brings to me a piece of information now from one source, another piece then from a different source, and other information later from other sources until a puzzle picture emerges and answers my dilemma at hand. He did not reveal himself to any one patriarch totally. To Abraham, He revealed faithfulness. To Moses, He revealed His law and our expected obedience. To the prophets He revealed plans. In Christ He revealed eternal life. Nor did He inspire one hand to write the Bible in one sitting. Nor have these signs been revealed to any one man, but to several over the last few decades. God wants the attention of honest minds and hearts, of those who seek Him in truth. They are the ones who will seek the pieces and fuss with putting the puzzle together however those pieces truly fit. I’ve been studying these signs in the sky since I saw an advertisement for John Haigee’s book on the four blood moons in 2013. I assure you; they are numerous; they are profound, awesome, glorifying to God; they are not the “one-sy two-sies” that we hear propagated as “The Sign of Jesus’ return tomorrow“, nor of the beginning of the tribulation yesterday. These signs speak the volume of intelligent communication only the loving, infinite Father of Jesus Christ would make to us who need to know.
-----Monday’s solar eclipse stretched across the USA, Darwin says by happenstance, God says by purpose. Consider Hitler. For seven years he poured forth a flood to wash God’s Jews from the world. Six million he destroyed. He was not shattered like a China bowl on a rock floor. He was unraveled like a knit sweater. America entered the war and tricked him, pushed his “arrogant” buttons, and slapped him to the floor, where he and his sweet, little Eva did the rest. God made USA to prevent that evil from controlling the world. Witness the USA signing an accord with Iran‘s evil, giving it a ten year highway to nuclear weapons and 180 billion dollars for lodging and food along the way! If the 1493-4 eclipses hailed America’s discovery, the 1949-50 ones Israel’s refounding, the 1967-8 Jerusalem’s recovery, surely the 2014-5 eclipses hailed the removal of what hinders the man of perdition’s revealing.

-----August 21 seems to be popular for total solar eclipses. USA saw hers Monday. The Ottoman-Turk Empire saw its total solar eclipse August 21, 1914. Now, this is profound. First, when considering the two common characteristics of the six heads of The Beast identified by the angel in Revelation to John, 1) each empire (head) except the first immediately replaced the one preceding it, and 2) each controlled the Holy Land; the Ottoman-Turk Empire is the seventh. It alone shares those two criteria. The seventh head dies, as Revelation reveals. The seventh head got a total solar eclipse. 1914 was the year WWI started, which was the war which ended the Ottoman-Turk Empire. Get my drift? America held back NAZI evil of the 20th century and opens the gate to Islamic evil of the 21st century. America gets a total solar eclipse on the same day of the calendar as did the Ottoman-Turk Empire. Have we been hearing war drums? This was a beautiful eclipse, but because of information, I did not see it as a happy sign.
-----Mark Blitz informs us that August 21st, both of 1914 and 2017, are 1 Elul of the Jewish calendar. In Jewish reverence to JWHW, the month of Elul is the month of repentance. August 21 begins that repentance. The Ottoman-Turk Empire did not repent. Will America? Have we seen the laws broken by Barrack Obama enforced? No. Have we seen the laws broken by Hillary Clinton enforced? No. Donald Trump is yet looking the other way. Anyone conservative is impugned and impaled for the slightest misdeed. Anyone left-wing fascist is propped up, defended, and re-glorified after even the most heinous of outrages, like marching through the streets shouting “What do we want? DEAD COPS! When do we…Pigs in a blanket fry ‘em like…” Yah. Everyone knows what I’m talking about. And still, the God-fearing, the conservative, those who admire, honor, and love what God made America to be are castigated, painted ugly, and thrown into the streets for a disgusting mocking by…yes…“Americans“.
-----I was a bit bewildered at all the confusion over what the 2014-5 blood moons signified. America held back evil from washing that Hitler “man of perdition” into the world. Now America has stepped aside from its post of duty as the Islamic “man of perdition” washes into the world. Soon the core of “holding back” -the Holy Spirit- will remove Himself at the rapture of the church, and all hell will proceed upon earth. When? One of more than several years remaining. Remember that day and hour thing? Could be tomorrow. Could be a dozen years from now. Probably not more. How do I know? The signs. The blood moons. And far, far more. Alone they’re chirps. But together they’re a very intelligible symphony of trouble and glorious joy coming this way. “Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name! Thy kingdom come! Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” My heart overflows.
