People often
critique publications with, “I don’t agree with everything they say, but I can
read it and make up my own mind.” Discernment is a valuable skill; however,
many people mistakenly approach the Bible with a similar mind set and as they
read Scripture they edit out portions they don’t agree with. To people of faith
Paul said, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking,
correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man
of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Tim 3:16-17 NIV).
