Many of us
have occasionally found ourselves in dangerous situations. Paul recounts his suffering
for the Gospel, “…I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger
from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my own countrymen, in
danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in
danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers” (2 Cor 11:26 NIV). Normally I
think of the church as a safe haven where we are, generally speaking, of one
accord. I’m now giving thought that today, as in Paul’s day, there are false
brothers in the assembly of believers.
