Bliss

Sometimes what the Lord says cuts straight to the heart, “When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard Jesus’ parables, they knew he was talking about them.” (Matt 21:45) And then other times we just don’t know what to do with what we hear, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everyone?” (Luke 12:41) Conviction is painful…and ignorance is bliss.

Gail;

-----The Bible makes room for our ignorance, for before the Bible we are truly ignorant. If our ignorance had to entirely dissipate before Jesus would have anything to do with us, we all would be in trouble. And although the Bible calls into our ignorance for some wisdom to be brought forth, it does not brow-beat us because of the ignorance that remains. It makes room for it amongst the brethren (Rom 14:1-3; 15:1-2, 7; I Cor 8:5-7). Ignorance is why patience, forbearance, and forgiveness are so much a part of the new life, and it is eventually overcome by them. These make room for bliss while waiting for the lights to turn up and wash out the ignorance.
