For Us

With upcoming elections starting to heat up, I recently read an anonymous blog, where a constituent blasted a former elected official saying, “What did Representative Doe ever do for us in his previous term?” Although I can’t say that I really remember Doe’s accomplishments, I do think he could respond, “I didn’t sell you out.” Often men and women of integrity are the ones who, in the eyes of the world, seem to accomplish the least. When Jesus was before Pilate the people shouted, “Crucify him! Crucify him!” I think I can also hear the world saying, “What has this Jesus ever done for us?” Jesus didn’t sell us out; rather He bought us for a price.

Gail;

-----“I didn’t sell you out” is not good enough. Did this politician stand by while the representatives around him sold us out? There are plenty of microphones, cameras, and newspaper reporters available for exposing the lies and deceit of fellow politicians who are in office simply to transform America. And if the treachery of the media outlets is to join ranks with those selling us out, there are vocal constituents in every town of his district and on the internet who will sprinkle about his message like Spring showers. If the people fail to understand, then enough facts, information, and insights can be added to the message for them to grasp its basic implications. Where there is a will, there is a way. And those who are unwilling to stand by while others sell us out become apparent by finding whatever way they can to interfere with the sale.
-----This is what Jesus did. Satan convinced man to buy into his lie and elect him as the world leader. But God tilled mankind into a fertile soil, giving us facts, information, and insights over the centuries until we were ready to understand the basic implications. Then, at the time when travel and communications were the greatest they had ever been, God came amongst us and sprinkled His message around. Even though the great sellout continues, Jesus bids all who have eyes to see to take shelter in Him.
-----Like Paul said, all this didn’t happen in a corner. It happened out in the open where anyone willing to see can see. Those who join with Satan’s bidding merely choose to cast their eyes elsewhere. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, given that the beholder has eyes.

Love you all,
