Gail;

-----“Freedom from what?” has always been the first thought to hit my mind in response to such proclamations of and calls for freedom. The political left promises their minions freedom. The political right claims freedom flows naturally from their policies. The godless and profane extol freedom from constraint, and Jesus set us free from sin.
-----The political left boast freedom from poverty and disaster and the uncontrollable difficulties of life while it enslaves you to political machinery. The political right sets you free to survive and succeed in life any way you desire except by damage to others, yet leaves you naked and weak before the elements of life. The godless and profane really do enjoy a freedom from everything except the consequences of what they do. And Jesus’ followers run around talking about this freedom from sin while being subjected to the brutality of every form of government, to every band of marauders, and to the elements of life as well as the consequences of the sins they yet do. Then, looking at our country I am fearing we shall from here to forth be celebrating Dependence Day on the 4th of Fuly. I know what makes the minds of those who are fundamentally transforming us.
-----Unfortunately for the captors, the marauders, the thieves of everything from property to their neighbors’ peace and joy, freedom is not tied to time. It is tied to an existence, but not this one. This existence is not about freedom. In it, freedom can be had only in one or more ways, causing one or more other ways of entrapment. But the other existence to which those who have been freed from sin go has no sin or possibility of sin. It isn’t that God will not allow sin there (thus destroying the concept of freedom there,) it is that everybody there, including God, will desire the impossibility of sin there. For that is the kind of souls the place is made of. And God being the grantor of desires will allow the impossibility of sin to be an element of eternal life. In that condition a person will be free to do whatever he desires, for the only possible doing will be right doing. And that is being set completely free.
-----So, we now have that freedom in our desires. We are free to desire the Lord and righteousness and the place where no wrong can be. And we have that freedom in our spirits being joined with His Spirit. Yet we live in a dualistic world. For the short time of our remaining, physical lives we are subjected to one form or another of captivating problems.

Love you all,
