When people
have an incurable disease or long-time disability many of us stop praying for
healing and focus our prayers on the symptoms. Two blind men were sitting by
the roadside when they heard Jesus was going by. When they called out to Jesus
he said, “What do you want me to do for you?” The men didn’t ask for new canes,
handicapped housing or live-in care-givers, “Lord,” they answered, “we want our
sight.” Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes.
Immediately they received their sight and followed him” (Matt 20:32-34 NIV).
